SUCCESSFUL PARTNER COOPERATION - SPORT FESTIVAL IN THE HONOUR OF PALILULA `SPORTS ZONES`

The results of one year activity on the project and partner cooperation between the two border municipalities, Berkovitsa and Palilula, according to the estimation of project teams were successful, it was announced at a press conference in the Media & ReformCenter, Nis on Thursday 8th October. On the project effects "Strengthening territorial cohesion in the border region through the development of social infrastructure in the field of sport - Development of Sports" , which were achieved within the framework of the EU IPA funds, through the CBC Bulgaria-Serbia, spoke Boban Džunić, president of Palilula Municipality, Tomislav Filipov, Project Coordinator, Municipality Berkovitsa (Bulgaria) and Nikola Bozic, project coordinator, Municipality of Palilula (Serbia).

Thanks to the partnership on the project, residents of these two towns were given sports centers - "sports zone" for recreation and gathering of young people. Investments worth around 760,000 Euros were realized with the EU support. Reconstructed stadium and sports center in Berkovitsa was opened at the beginning of September this year, the presidents of partner municipalities in the presence of Prime Minister of Bulgaria. On Friday, October 9, at the school, "Branko Miljkovic" will be opened "Sports Zone". Young people of this settlement of Palilula will be given skate park, gym and outdoor artificial rock. Investment worth about 110,000 Euros.

On the occasion of the completion of the project in Palilula Municipality from October 8-10 in the presence of the delegation of the young people from partner Municipality Berkovitsa (Bulgaria), will be organized `Sports Festival`-"Challenge Day-Get to know your neighbor through sports".
